Volunteers clear 84 bags worth of garbage from Commonwealth Ave Mall

BOSTON — Boston is a little bit cleaner and brighter thanks to dozens of volunteers who spent Sunday spring cleaning.

The Boston Park and Recreation Department teamed up with more than 40 volunteers of the International 'WeLoveU Foundation' to clean the Commonwealth Avenue Mall.

Volunteers collected trash and debris and filled 84 bags.

The goal is to maintain a safer and friendlier environment for the community.

The clean-up is part of WeLoveU's Clean World Movement, which is a global effort to raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection in the face of climate change.

After cleaning Boston, the WeLoveU Foundation's next initiative is delivering solar panel lights to students in Haiti.
