Man loses fingers in accident at scrap metal facility in Everett

EVERETT, Mass. — A worker at a scrap metal facility lost some of his fingers in an accident involving a hydraulic machine Thursday morning.

Everett Police Chief Anthony Carli said a man suffered a partial amputation of some of his fingers while using a hydraulic machine around 8 a.m. Wednesday at 431 2nd St.

The man, who police have not named, was conscious when he was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Carli said the accident is under investigation.
