WAREHAM, Mass. — A man is charged with attempted murder in connection with a Wareham house fire from March 29.
Wareham Police arrested Mondel Johnson, a 40-year-old from East Wareham, Thursday after they say he attacked a woman inside a home on Restful Lane before dousing her in a fluid and setting the home on fire. The home had to be demolished.
Court documents say Johnson and a woman entered the condemned home of someone she knows of Restful Lane to use drugs.
Johnson allegedly beat the woman with a hammer and sprayed fluid on her.
"During this time, he proceeded to stomp on her until she passed out."
